Stewardship 2027
Dear Sr. Brendan’s,
Next year marks a momentous occasion in St. Brendan’s history: Our 40th anniversary. Over four decades, Brendanites have come together much like the crew on a ship, guided on our Christian voyage by our shared mission:
The realization of fullness through the worship of God; service to the world; active concern for each other; and education to expand the mind and spirit.
Through the years we remained steadfastly directed by our faith and our desire to make St. Brendan’s a lighthouse for Brendanites and the larger community around us.
The work is hard, yet so rewarding. Our gifts of time and talent breathe life into our beloved St. Brendan’s, whether we are cooking meals for a struggling neighbor, supporting a Syrian family in need, marching in Pittsburgh’s Pride parade, volunteering in a Sunday School classroom, singing in the choir, knitting red hats or serving in our pastoral care ministry for the homebound.
As we venture into the next decades of this voyage, we will continue to do so together, supporting one another in faith and community to spread the good news of God in Christ and share the works God is doing at St. Brendan’s.
Your financial contributions to St. Brendan’s are vital to support all our ministries. Our monetary gifts let our building remain a working safe haven for our congregation, but they also support St. Brendan’s many worship, formation, and outreach programs.
As we begin the 2027 Stewardship season, we ask you to reflect on the voyage you’ve taken at St. Brendan’s. Think of the crewmates beside you, who may have served alongside you as you cooked meals, hiked a trail with Brendan’s Boots, served cookies at Holiday Happenings, or said “Peace” during Sunday worship. Think, too, of our youngest voyagers, who gratefully now take up more room on our expanding ship.
If we are to continue our journey in faith, we must support one another and our beloved St. Brendan’s. When you make a pledge for the amount you plan to give over the following year, St. Brendan’s can confidently budget for the upcoming year and continue to support all of the good works that we contribute to our community.
Over the coming Sundays, you will hear from fellow Brendanites who were called to share their stories of faith, love, and community at St. Brendan’s. Their experiences represent the impact your financial contributions make.
Together we can support St. Brendan’s continuing voyage, honoring our past, relishing the present, and preparing for the future.
Pledge cards are available at the church and can be returned in the church shaped box in the parish office. Please make your pledge by Sundae Sunday, November 8th, when we will celebrate the end of a successful Stewardship season with ice cream sundaes after the 10:00 service!
Sincerely,
