Statement of Inclusivity and Affirmation
St. Brendan's Episcopal Church is an open and welcoming community of faith. We seek to serve God and support each other through worship and faith in action in an atmosphere of love, friendship, and compassion. We celebrate the presence and leadership of all our members, visitors, and friends regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, spirituality, education, income, age or immigration and citizenship status. We work hard to bring attention to diversity and inclusion in everything we do.
We affirm that every individual has worth and is a bearer of God’s image. No matter who you love, how you look, or what you do, we welcome and affirm you in the full life of the church. Many people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) and their families have been or are ostracized by their faith community. We believe that people who are LGBTQ+ are a gift from God and are fully embraced by our congregation. As Christians, we are called - by Christ - to unconditionally “love our neighbors as ourselves.”
